A Ilha do Cedro fica a cerca de 12 milhas de Paraty. Pode ser acessada de barco a partir do cais de Tarituba, que foi o nosso caso. Em tarituba é fácil descolar um frete de embarcação que leve até a ilha. Caso possua sua própria embarcação, a ancoragem é muito bonita e perfeita para uma pernoite.
No caso se a opção for ir navegando, só é preciso cuidado com o caminho, mantendo-se atendo a carta náutica, pois ao entrar na na enseada do Cedro, que é pequena, é importante manter-se distante da Lajinha, pois há uma formação de pedras que se estende por uns 50 metros a oeste. Também não é possível passar pelo canal entre o Cedro e a ilha do Caroço. Já para quem vem de Paraty, atenção com as lajes Perdida, Funda, Rasa, Sete Cabeças e Feiticeira. Quem vem de Angra precisa ficar atento com as lajes Alagada e dos Meros.
Na ilha você encontra dois bares: o da Dita e do Nelson, que possuem opções de cardápio com frutos do mar e bebida. Optamos por levar um peixe e assá-lo na própria praia. É lógico que se essa for sua opção, o ideal é procurar agredir o menos possível o ambiente, retirando todo o lixo do local no final do passeio. A praia é perfeita para remar, nadar e namorar.
A ilha possui poucas construções e é fácil encontrar embarcações ancoradas, mas nada que chegue a ser uma super lotação (risos). A água é calma e as praias são rasas, ideal para mergulhar e apreciar a costeira debaixo d'água. Desfrute do passeio e das lindas paisagens da serra do mar e sua Mata Atlântica e, claro, preserve o paraíso.
Spending the day at Cedro Island
